Words and their types

Types of words

  1. New word / unknown word - a word you’ve not seen before, marked with blue background
  2. Learning word - a word you’ve saved (together with a translation), marked with an orange underline*
  3. Skipped word - a word that you probably know because you skipped saving it when turning pages, no special marking

* The strength of the underline depends on word strength - it goes from orange (strength = 0) to total transparency (strength = 5).

What does word strength mean?

Word strength shows how well you know the word. All new learning words start with the strength of 0 (minimum). The maximum strength is 5. You can manually change the strength if you feel like you know the word better.

It will help you later by seeing the progress but also when choosing which words to practice with flashcards.

Skipped words get the strength of 5.

It’s not possible to manually yet change the strength (except while using flashcards or words import) but this will be added in the future.

A due date (for SRS flashcards) is automatically assigned to all the words (except for the skipped words).
