Flashcards have two modes - general and SRS (spaced repetition system).
Both modes select up to 7 words for the session which are then randomized and repeated three times (unless they are removed from the session - see below).
General flashcards
Words are picked and sorted by strength - lowest strength first. You will choose each time which strength to assign to the card when you practice the cards.
Note that although this is not the SRS mode, the due dates will still be set behind the scenes based on the strength.
If you set the strength to 5, the card will be removed from the session.
Spaced Repetition System (SRS)
Words are picked by review due date - words with the current date (today) as the review date are selected first. If there’s any room left over, more words will be added (words with earlier review dates first).
Each word is shown three times (theoretically). If you get the word right, the strength will increase by 1. If you get it right on the first try, the card will be removed from that session. If you get it wrong, the strength will decrease by -1.
If you change the strength manually, the card will not be shown again during that session.
How are the review due dates set?
Strength | Due date |
---|---|
0 | now |
1 | 1 day from now |
2 | 3 days from now |
3 | 5 days from now |
4 | 10 days from now |
5 | no due date (it's learned) |
Once you get the word right when it has the strength set to 5, there will be no due date for the word anymore and it’s not shown in SRS anymore.
